My one of a kind three week board and train program create amazing results by immersing your dog 24/7 in my training program, which includes a lifestyle of structure, boundaries, rules, socialization, supervised play, fun and getting your dog out in real world situations (unlike many other training places). My unique approach to dog training is focused more on addressing the fundamental state of mind of your dog, rather than strictly focusing on creating rehearsed behaviors. In other words, I'm much more concerned with creating a happy, confident, and reliable family house dog than creating a dog that simply only knows a few obedience commands. By living with me at my house for three weeks your dog will develop a new foundation, new patterned behaviors and a new state of mind that will make it much easier for you to be successful in continuing the training which will cultivate an amazing relationship with your dog. Think of it as a much needed reboot for your dog where I do all the heavy lifting (training) for you and all you need to do is stay committed to a new lifestyle and training plan when your dog returns home. Your commitment to keep up with the training contributes greatly to your success after your dog is back home, and with the customized training plan I'll send you home with and on-going support you can be just as successful as my past clients have continued to be with their dogs years after going through one of my board and train programs!
My custom board and train program addresses most behavior issues, such as, but not limited to fearful dogs, separation anxiety, nervousness, dog aggression, selective hearing, high energy, leash reactivity (lunging, growling, barking on the walk), pulling, jumping on people and furniture, nipping, chewing, mouthing (not biting), resource guarding (food, toys, humans), prey drive issues (chasing cats and birds), excessive barking, counter surfing, door dodging, not listening, puppy obedience training, rebellious puppy behaviors and not dropping or releasing things (toys, food, rocks, etc).
The board and train program covers all of the basics of obedience training as well, such as the walk, down/stay, place command (off switch, reset button), recall/come, out (drop it), waiting at thresholds, confidence building, off-leash training and proper socialization which also makes my board and train program an EXCELLENT choice for puppies 5 months old and up that are crate and potty trained.
*Empowered K9 does NOT work with human aggressive/reactive dogs with or without a bite history
*Empowered K9 does NOT work with dogs that fight with each other in the home
Due to the fact that I'm a small solo operation, I only take 4 dogs a month. By keeping the number of dogs small that are in for board and train low, it ensures that your dog will get plenty of one on one training time. I will on a rare occasion have up to 5-6 dogs here, the extra 1-3 dogs will be boarders who have already gone through my board and train program.
The program includes a 30-minute consultation during the drop off; a 3 hour follow up at the end of the program at the time of pick up at my facility where I will transfer all of the information, techniques, and strategies to you to ensure continued success; email and phone support during and after the program is complete. Last but not least, if you adhere to the training plan and the terms of your signed training contract, I will provide lifetime support for training your dog. I offer on-going support and aftercare for all of my clients for the life of their dog. All board and train packages include an elevated dog bed, a top of the line Herm Sprenger prong collar and free ecollar upgrades!
This program is designed for total freedom (most dogs), peace of mind, raising puppies into awesome adults, behavior modification, a much more enjoyable dog, and better leadership skills. By filling out the contact form I can better assess you and your dog's situation and needs. Once I receive your form I'll look it over and send you an email with some additional info and find out when a good time to give you a ring is. Once we talk and if we're a fit for each other, we can setup a training date for your dog.
In order to hold your board and train spot, a $900 non-refundable payment will need to be made at least 8 weeks prior to the day/date you drop off your dog as a space holding deposit. The rest of the payment will need to be made the day of the drop off.

"Dave walked me through the entire process. He makes himself available to you before, during and after the board and train for questions, concerns and reassurance. I can't imagine that you would find his level of dedication anywhere else. His honesty and integrity are bar none. If you're even reading this review you NEED Dave and Empowered K9. Call him now!! I'm even sending my "well behaved" dog, Penny, to Dave. Since Finn is now a rock star I clearly see Penny's issues. Funny to think that I thought she was the good one! Hire Empowered K9...change your dog, become a leader, change your life!" ~ Kathy (Board and Train)

Kodiak the 8m old Husky did a board and train for obedience training and off leash reliability. Not bad for a pup that only knew sit when she first came in.
|
Poodle Penny Lane came in for a host of issues. One of things her owner was tired of was having to lift her into their car, which is now a thing of the past.
|
Dog training involves a variety of things! As me and my own personal dog Dutch (9 months old here) show that training can be and should be fun!
|
Vivian the 6 month old Miniature Schnauzer rocking some of her new basic obedience skills! This little cutie completed a 3 week board and train.
|
Cooper the Goldendoodle was completely out of control when he arrived for his 3 week board and train so for him to be doing stuff like this is pretty sweet!
|
Dutch (my dog) getting his chase me on with 4 month old Stanley. Stanley did a 3 week board and train, and he was a ton of fun as you can see!
|
I was the third trainer to work with Shiloh. She came to me human reactive, fearful and could not be trusted off-leash - now look at this pretty Great Dane!
|
Luca was deemed untrainable because he would always run away and not listen, he's looking pretty trainable now - never give up on your dog!
|
Summit the Weimaraner and my Rottweiler Dutch absolutely crushed this off-leash walk even with major distractions!
|
Hudson the Retriever came in with major impulse control issues so this little game is actually super impressive!
|
Tux the Sheepadoodle came in for his board and train a door dodger and he left a much improved version of himself.
|
4 month old Stanley is a ROCKSTAR! His owners want an awesome adult version so they signed him up with me.
|
Some of my past board and train rockstars!
These guys and gals all came in with different issues and all went home the best version of themselves!
"We hope you know how much you impact the lives of those you choose to work with! Not only do we have a much better relationship with our dogs we also became good friends with you throughout the process. You are the BEST! With all the things someone can choose to do for a living you have chosen to better the lives of misunderstood dogs and bring balance into people's lives and homes. God bless you Dave and keep Empowering K9's and owners to be the very best we can be!!!" ~ Brittany Andrus (Board and Train)

Boarding is only available for dogs who have done a Board and Train with me previously and room is limited!
Boarding includes one walk, carefully supervised playtime with Dutch and Maeve, off-leash greenbelt time, store trips, maintenance of any rules and training that your dog already has in place and most importantly you'll know your dog is SAFE.
All dogs sleep inside my climate-controlled dog room
*Availability for boarding depends on space and notice. I will need at least 2-4 months notice if you would like to board your dog with me, and even with that much notice there's no guarantee that I will have space.
